SDHC
Using SDHC with Sharp/Cacko ROMs
- The original Sharp ROM can only mount a 1GB SD card and will not mount SDHC; the Zaurus SL-C3200 came with a driver that could handle up to 4GB SD cards - this driver can also be used with the 3000 and 3100.
- There is a sdmmc module for the Cacko ROM that will allow larger SD cards to be used, but not SDHC.
- C-guys developed a SDIO driver that allowed 2GB SD cards to be used with the Sharp ROM. The scripts to automatically mount the device required some editing and even then some manual intervention was needed. OESF Discussion
The Sharp driver can be found on the ROM at /lib/modules.rom/2.4.18-rmk7-pxa3-embedix/kernel/drivers/block/sharp_mmcsd_m.o (depending on which ROM you are using).
SDHC Driver
bucchi has developed a SDHC driver to use cards of upto 32GB for all Zaurus. It patches the standard Sharp driver so the ROM must be reverted to the original state for installation to be successful.
The driver is in an ipk file so installation is performed by simply tapping the icon.
Cacko ROM
The extended SD driver module must be removed before installing the bucchi software.
Enhanced Audio Driver
Andre Beckedorf (evilJazz on OESF) has made an enhanced audio driver for the Wolfson WM8750 that is on the Zaurus SL-C1000 and SL-C3X00 models. You need to install a special kernel in order to use it. (OESF Discussion)
