Getting OpenZaurus to sync with QT Desktop

Getting Open Zaurus 3.2 to sync with QT Desktop in Windows XP

You will most likely need OZ 3.2 for it to work right, and I downloaded QT Desktop 1.7.0 from Trolltech's FTP ftp://ftp.trolltech.com/qtopia/desktop/Windows This should work with Windows 9X too.

  1. Download and install QT Desktop.
  2. If you are trying to sync over wireless, go into the settings under File and find the tab that shows the IP address for the zaurus, and enter your Zaurus' IP address. It can be found by typing "ifconfig" in the terminal on the zaurus.
  3. On the Zaurus go into the Security app under settings and tap on the Sync tab and make sure the "Accept sync from network" matches the same IP range as your desktop's ipaddress. I had to chose "Any" to get it to work so you might have to do the same. Just make sure after your done syncing to change it to "None"
  4. Start a sync on from QT Desktop and press the button on the zaurus to alow the desktop to sync.

You should now be all set to sync to a windows desktop now.
