Memory and Drives
From OESF
This page is concerned with memory devices and drives that may be used with PDAs running embedded Linux.
The Zaurus can use Secure Digital (SD) and Compact Flash (CF) type memory cards. Multimedia Card (MMC) type devices have the same form factor as SD so can also be used. Not all cards are 100% compatible, see the SD And CF FAQ.
The Sharp ROM by default only handles SD cards up to 1 GB in size. It is possible to install Drivers to use SDHC cards with larger capacities.
Big box Zaurus clamshell models can use their USB ports in host mode and therefore can control USB hard disks, CDROM, DVD drives, etc., but, due to the low-powered USB port you have to use a self-powered USB hub for devices which requires more than 150 mA and doesn't have their own external power supply.
Information about more devices and usage on other platforms is welcomed here.
