pdaXrom is an X11 based linux distribution that makes a Sharp Zaurus feel like a desktop machine instead of a PDA.

What is pdaXrom?
pdaXrom is an X11 based ROM for the Sharp Zaurus. [Take a look at some screenshots.] A large amount of #Software is available (such as abiword, gnumeric, and mplayer) in the official feeds, and more is available in the unstable/user contributed feeds. It is also easy to compile and package software for use with pdaXrom.
pdaXrom is very flexible, and will run gtk and qt3 applications. Several different #Window Managers are also available for it.
Please note that software for other Zaurus ROMs, and for pdaXrom before RC5, does not generally work.
Current Release
The current release of pdaXrom is 1.1.0beta1 and 1.1.0beta2 is in testing.
Supported Models
pdaXrom runs on the following Zaurus models: SL-5000D/5500, SL-C7x0/7500/860, SL-6000, and SL-C1000/C3100. It does not currently support the SL-C3000 or 3200 models.
Where to Get Help
The pdaXrom community is very active in the forum. There is also a IRC chat group, irc://irc.freenode.net/#cacko , but it is not very active. (Your best bet there is to ask a question, and wait five minutes for an answer.) It is also useful to check the bug list.
The wiki (which you've found!) is also a good resource, and will become even better, with your help. If you get a useful answer or found a workaround to you problem, please contribute to the wiki.
Also, note that although pdaXrom is quite a bit different from the Sharp, Cacko, or OpenZaurus ROMs, it still runs Linux and is still a Zaurus, so a lot of info about other ROMs still apply. Don't be afraid to search the other parts of the wiki or forum for additional help.
