Important note
The goal of a wiki is to be a knowledge repository, if you don't find you answer or want to report a bug please consider first the pdaxrom forum or the pdaxrom buglist. If you get a useful answer or found a workaround to you problem you are more than welcome to contribute to this wiki.
Pdaxrom
Note that though pdaxrom is a lot different from sharp or openzarus rom, it is still linux it is still a Zaurus, so a lot of info about other roms still applies: don't be afraid to search the wiki.
pdaxrom (formerly known as x11rom) is a X11 based rom for cxx0-zauri. There is a wide range of software available (e.g. abiword, gnumeric, mplayer), as well as native and cross compiler sdk.
Take a look at the offical screenshot section or directly download the software.
Pdaxrom is very flexible, you can choose among different window managers (e. g. matchbox, fvwm, fluxbox, fvwm and fluxbox on zaurus, ROX) and have full support of qt3, gtk in your applications.
Releases
The current official is 1.0.5, the current "development" release is Kathrin RC9.
The recommended version is RC9 because:
- The stable release is not more stable than the developement version, RC releases fixes a lot of bugs.
- Most pdaxrom users have RC installed so you will more likely to find help, new software for this release.
Important Note starting from RC5 the pdaxrom team has changed the way floating point emulation is done, as a result software using intensively floating points number should run much faster, as a drawback software built for releases before RC5 might not work in the stable release and vice versa. So if you want to use an application that has been built only for 1.0.5 you should install this release. (or recompile...)
