How do I connect to Z via USB?

  • Via telnet

Just connect Z to USB, and run: telnet 192.168.129.201

Of course, you must have installed USB network drivers on your PC.

How do I recalibrate the touchscreen?

  • Remove pointercal_tslib

Run konsole (or connect via telnet) and remove file /etc/pointercal_tslib like this:

rm /etc/pointercal_tslib

then reboot your Z.

How do I press the Control and Alt buttons?

  • Calendar button is mapped as Control and Address is mapped as Left Alt.

How do I press the middle or right mouse button?

  • Press Control 2 (Control = Calendar button) to switch to middle mouse button emulation. Control 3 for right button, and Control 1 for left button (default).

When I wake my Zaurus up from suspend/Off button, it just wakes up and then suspends again?

  • For wake up press "Power On" button on Zaurus hardware keyboard.

How do I transfer files to the Zaurus?

  • Setup password for root user like this:
 passwd

and then connect to Zaurus from FTP client. Example for USB network: ftp 192.168.129.201

How do I setup gcc compiler on Zaurus?

  • Just copy zgcc-3.3.1.img to /home/root directory and reboot Zaurus.

Then install needed packages and needed headers.

How do I change the wallpaper?

  • Press Control 3 (Control = Calendar button) and click on the background, then press Control 1 and select

Backdrop. Then browse to your wallpaper image and drag it onto the "Set backdrop" window and configure it.

How set keyboard to russian input?

  • Control 0 - switch to russian keyboard (JCUKEN), Control 9 = english (default). Labels with russian layout available from Maccenter (Russia, Moskow)
