Upgrading Opie on OpenZaurus 3.2
From OESF
Upgrading to Opie 1.0 on !OpenZaurus 3.2
For this to work you need to have a wireless card or a working connection to the internet thru the cradle.
The first step is to add the opie feed so ipkg can find it.
There are two ways to go about doing it:
1. Start the "Packges" app in the setting folder, find the "Configure" menu item and go there, tap "new" button and enter http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/openzaurus/1.0 in the address box. Put something like opie in the name box, and tap the "Active server" box and tap "update". Now make sure that the stable, unstable, and testing feeds are not active by removing the X from the "Active Server" box on them and taping update before going to the next one.
2. The easy way. Just open /etc/ipkg.conf with your favorite text editor and add this line to it with the rest: src opie http://opie.handhelds.org/feed/openzaurus/1.0 put a # before the rest of the lines that start with "src" and save the file.
Now comes the easy part.
Start the "Shutdown" app in the Settings tab and tap the "Terminate Opie" button.
If you have changed the password for root, login as root with your password.
Type "ipkg update" at the # prompt and when that is done type "ipkg upgrade".
The upgrade process will take awhile depending on how much free space you have in / and how fast your internet connection is.
Thats it!
