Howto Sync under windows 2K
I have been able to sync my Z over my wireless network with Outlook running on Windows 2K using the following steps.
First get PPP working.
Next shut down the network link from the PC. This step is necessary because Intellisync tries to be just a little too smart and will not allow you to set an IP address for the sync that is in the same subnet as any currently active network connection.
Now open the Intellisync Communications Options by right-clicking on the Intellisync icon in the toolbar, and set the USB IP address to the address you set the Zaurus to in the PPP settings.
Fire up the network connection again.
After you can see the Zaurus again, start the sync.
When the sync is complete Intellisync will pop up a dialog saying to change the IP address of the Zaurus -- Ignore this message and close the dialog.
The bad news is that you will have to go through this whole rigamarole everytime you want to sync... sigh... :^/ I have emailed Intellisync about the problem but have only ever received an automated response. I did see in a FAQ on their website that they don't support the Zaurus version of Intellisync -- It belongs to Sharp.
If my explanation was totally opaque let me know and I will attempt to clarify.
