BIND 9.3.2 for Sharp Zaurus

13-Jul-09: This page is really old! If you want a simple DNS server for the Zaurus, I strongly recommend that you use something smaller than the full BIND. May I suggest dnsmasq?

I recently compiled BIND for the Sharp Zaurus, so it can run its own nameserver. I am using the Cacko ROM and it has hostap, so with a Prism2 card, I can use the Zaurus as a wireless access point.

dhcpd is already installed, but I needed BIND (to run a DNS server on the Zaurus) and Apache (to run a webserver). Apache is already available, somewhere (fill this in later?).

I decided to build BIND myself, and picked a recent version, as of the time of writing (Oct 10 2006).

The file that you probably want is bind-9.3.2_arm.ipk. This extracts to approximately 9M.
