Hi.
I tried to install OZ 3.5.3 on a fresh restored Sharp setup on my SL-C1000, using a 512 M CF.
It reboots with OZ (all messages on the console) but at some time it displays :
...
cramfs: wrong magic
FAT: bogus logical sector size 480
...
Then after a while INIT, etc.
It then displays the CG color screen with the dog, and so on until Qte is displayed just as it was before the flash...
I would expect the result to be Opie, and not the old GUI.... or am I wrong ?
Also, the CF card can no longer be mounted by the zaurus... the CF icon appears but nothing is mounted
I suspect there is a problem and OPIE is not started, but instead the old system, because it cannot mount my CF during the boot....
Should the CF be formatted in a special way ? ... is the kernel missing some patch ? (looks like 2.4.20-3.5.3-snapshot-20050427).
Many thanks in advance.

Should the CF be formatted in a special way
Yes, read the installtion instructions (it has to be fat16 - type 6).
What did the updater tell you as it was (trying to) flash?

Euh... couldn't find such a thing in the installation instructions at : [a href=\"http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/installation/sl-c1000/]http://openzaurus.org/wordpress/installation/sl-c1000/[/url]
Where is the document you are referring to ?
Anyway, that's not the problem I think, since the partition indeed is FAT 16 (type 6) on my CF... and the updater reports success for the flash...
Any guess ?
Thanks for your help anyway

Also, I should say during the boot, and immediately before the cramfs wrong magic, it displays :
RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.
Freeing initrd memory: 4096K
In any case...

I tried again to flash, and this time also wrote down the only error message displayed by the installer :
touch /home/sharp/etc/etc_reset : no such file or directory
Also, at first boot, the following is displayed :
RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.
Invalid compressed format (err=2) <4>Freeing initrd memory: 4096K
cramfs: wrong magic
FAT: bogus logical sector size 480
I suspect there is something wrong with the initrd.bin

I suspect there is something wrong with the initrd.bin
And indeed there was : the file was named initrd.img instead of initrd.bin (
Such a dumb guy I am.
OK, this seems to have been the problem : the RO filesystem flash sequence is done now.
Sorry for bothering.
Now I see the Welcome to Opie !
Thanks for all.
