Thnks LordDavon for working on Bliss!

I did not think it could be a problem tough!

Do you think your port, when completed, could also work on X11 for the SL5500?

Or that it would be very difficult to make a QT port?

About advmame:

This is for the x11 ROM.  You just run it as ./advmame <rom name without the .zip>.  You also need to have SDL installed.  It is compiled for both the FB (so we can run it outside of X when that is fixed) and SDL.  If SDL is not installed, it will disable the SDL and use the FB.

As for the setup file, it will create it in ~/.advance

I am concentrating on the X11 ROM.  I have only been working on the Cacko X11 so I am not sure of the compatability of the other roms.  If the libraries are the same, I don\'t see a problem.

As for QT, I can move it over to that once I get everything compiled for X11.  My development is setup for Cacko right now, but my old SDL/Qtopia environment is all tarred up and ready to go still.

Would be really great!

I am sure I can wait for you to complete your work on the X11!

THe old intellivision games were really enjoyable and would be perfect on the Z (not to big HW requests, lots of games, no need to turn the screen, Keyboard available to simulate the extra Intv...)

Wow!

Actually, the snes9x-SDL port is running full speed with sound in the games I am testing.

ok, the mame was not the x mame.. problem fixed.

now the issue is that -misc_speed = flat
doesn\'t stay working:

---- 7.11.2 misc_speed ----
Selects the speed factor always active. You can play the game
in slowdown or in nightmare mode!

misc_speed FACTOR

Options:
FACTOR - Float speed factor (default 1.0).

Examples:
    misc_speed 1.2

try it... play ms pacman... runs nice.. when you die -- see the speed goes back to normal?
(or 15 to 30 seconds in... the game slows down)

advmame mspacman -misc_speed 4.0

you\'ll see it\'s fast... and watch it slow down.
(start a game fast to see the slowdown while playing).

am I doing it wrong?  the docs say the value lasts forever, but it doesn\'t.

if I set the turbo speed, that works.. but I have to hold down a key!
why can\'t the misc-speed just last forever, as it says?!

has anyone actually tried this -- or am I just talking to myself?
am I doing it wrong?  just tell me.

Scott,

Thank you for the update.  Remember that this is beta software so there may be issues.  I will look into the code and see if there is something in there that I can find.  Can you run top in the background and look for a memory leak?

the update was for the advmame not being \"x\" aware.
you uploaded the new version.

The speed thing is still an issue.
The \"-misc_speed\" value seems to get reset... or not even used.

Try it with mspacman... it will get reset after a short while.

If you set it with galaga -- it has not effect -- although turbo does!

It\'s as if some default value of 1 is hard coded somewhere...
also, it seems like something is fighting something else --
if I press turbo in galaga, I get a speed up, but then it drops back
to normal! even while holding the turbo.  It\'s almost like there\'s an
\"auto\" setting that\'s enabled for \"speed\" -- only, for me, it slows
it to 25% instead of 100%. argh.

I\'ve tried setting misc_speed in the config file and on the command line
and the speed *still* gets reset!  is the \"startuptime\" value
resetting the speedup, and then not allowing the speedup
to remain?

anyway, I\'ll play more for the next few days and give you feedback then.

:-)

Scott
ps: the snes seems FAST.

LD:  Are you still taking requests?  If so, I\'d love to see znester.

Thanks,

Corey

For the things that need SDL, do we just use one of the Qtopia SDLs for the regular Sharp roms?  Which one?

Nevermind, I found the SDL ipks for the X11 rom.
