Right! Look, I am so stupid I haven't seen Laze's message. I've downloaded image right after the announcement but managed to flash it only yesterday. Thanks a lot.

Just a quick note to say RC12 is working wonderfully on my 760. Of course, RC11 did too.

Not sure what you've changed but the user experience in RC12 is far better than it was in RC11 - great work. I may even keep PdaXrom as my standard OS but I have to find a way to transfer my information from Cacko first

hi i just downloaded the new rc12 ROM and tried to contact every feed i can find but the log gives a 404 error.  It looks like it is trying to add "/Packages" to every string i give as a source.  I cannot install any ipks because of this.  Is this a problem with a config file for the Package Manager or something because i am not aware of one.  I am pleased with all the other defaults for the new ROM tho... Any help would be greatly appreciated in the meantime.

the package manager now uses /etc/ipkg.conf for a config file.

The feed http://mail.pdaxrom.org/rc12/Zaurus-7x0-860/feed/ seems be available at the time I write this.

Do you update before installing something?
is internet working on your zaurus?

I have some doc on managing package here : http://pierre.ellh.com/ipk.txt
(if someone feels like doing correction/modification he is welcome...)

ipkg doesn't seem to work. No matter which feed I use I get:

sed: bad option in substitution expression
Downloading /Packages ...
/Packages: Unsupported scheme.
ipkg_download: ERROR: f\Failed to retrieve /Packages, returning
ipkg_update: Error downloading /Packages
to /usr/lib/ipkg/lists/http://mail.pdaxrom.org/rc12/Zaurus-7x0-860/feed

Any idea what's going on?
I'm using a C1000.

I think you put the url instead of the name
name should be like "myfeed" and the url http://mail.pdaxrom.org/rc12/Zaurus-7x0-860/feed

in ipkg.conf (from memory)

src myname http://mail.pdaxrom.org/rc12/Zaurus-7x0-860/feed

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

RC12 is awesome! Kismet works pretty much out of the box once the hostap modules ipk is installed. The USB storage works. And whatever you guys did to mplayer, it runs so much better. xrandr also works, which is great for setting the resolution to 320x240 when using mplayer or snes9x. Great job. Thanks again.

I think the filesystem IO charset under pdaXrom isn't UTF-8. This is a problem for me since I can't access many of my files and folder which have Japanese names.

Is there a way I can somehow specify the charset? It must be a low-level issue, since it affects chrooted debian under pdaXrom RC12 which under Cacko runs fine and accesses these Japanese files.

How can I do this?

It should be in the FAQ really. Like previous post suggested, the hardware clock needs to be kept in UTC.

/etc/pcmcia/bluetooth line 22 should state "/sbin/cardctl ident 0" instead
of "/sbin/cardctl ident" in order for bluetooth to work on 3100

ROX-Session doesn't work with RC12. It needs ROX-Lib2 version 1.9.16; the version en the feed seems to be 1.9.15. ROX-Filer is OK.

Edit: Archive doesn't work either
