USB Wifi on Zaurus
« on: November 05, 2018, 03:15:12 pm »
I am currently expecting a C3000 in the mail and I can't find good CF cards for Wifi for it. Do Wifi usb dongles do the job?
Thankyou in advance!

edit: I was also wondering if those SD Card + Wifi things work too.

Hi DQN,
I do not have any experience with SDIO cards, but the latest Arch Linux ARM and Void Linux kernels for Zaurus do have support for a variety of them.
You can search this kernel config for SDIO and it will show you what chipsets are enabled. Kernel Config
I am not sure if the SD card slot supports it, but probably. This would need some testing and there is no guarantee it will work or all the kernel support is enabled.
A known supported CF card is the DLink 660 CF WiFi. I can also confirm a Asus N-10 USB WiFi dongle works, but needs a powered USB hub unfortunately.

Ethernet options are a NE 2000 compatible CF card or a ASIX AX88772 USB Ethernet based dongle.

Cheers!
