Great to hear gpsp runs well on good-emu and game starved Z, I'm going to have to check it out when I've got my c3100 sorted.

BTW Who's the lovely lady on your avatar?

gpsp is a better GBA emulator than Visualboyadvance. I played FF I with almost full speed. You need gba bios to play the game. If you put 'gba_bios.bin'  at the same directory with the games, you  can run gpsp.

simply in the directory you are running gpsp from  roms can be wherever you like

anyway, audio sux. Games are playable, but you must consider them mute

I just tried gpSP, after using Visualboy Advance.  Although getting the bios was a minor issue, I was terribly impressed by the increase in speed.  gpSP moves faster at 416 Mhz ((almost fullspeed)) than VBA works at 520.

Thanks for pointing that emulator out!  And to think, I was going to go buy a Gameboy Micro today.

Hi everyone,

Although I no longer have my Zaurus C1000 to test/develop Z apps on, I speak to Exophase on a regular basis. Exophase is the author of gpSP, and I was doing the official port of gpSP to the GP2X Linux handheld. I successfully got a dynarec working for it, and now Exophase has control of the gpSP GP2X project.

What I'm getting at is, I believe the Zaurus port is using an "interpreter" for GBA CPU emulation and not the MUCH faster dynarec. I have a great deal of the in's and out's of this emulator, and having a direct contact to Exophase helps too. If the author of port of gpSP for the Zaurus needs any help, let me know. Just wish I had my Zaurus C1000 back! Improved dynarecs on ZPSX and gpSP would be great.

Thanks for the support! I can hardly wait to get back into Zaurus development again. :)

It would be nice to have better versions of both. I hope you get a new Zaurus. It's worth it

as simple as changing resolution before launching gpsp

if you haven't got a shortcut set, simply:
xrandr -s 0 && gpsp

For 320x240 use the following; xrandr -s 1 && gpsp

Should note this doesn't make it fullscreen, just drops the whole X into a lower resolution.  This makes the gpsp screen bigger looking.  To return it back too full resolution, type xrandr -s 0

or make a script for it like this;

#!/bin/sh
cd <gpsp directory with bios in it>
xrandr -s 1 && gpsp
cd /
xrandr -s 0

It should work to enlarge the screen, and drop the screen back to the 640x480 on exit from the game.  Hope this helps?
