All,
Just thought I would mention that the sequel to Z4CK - Digital Force has now been released. What is more, both the books are now being provided totally free in PDF format. The paperback is also ready if anyone is interested in a copy. The new book will be out soon on Amazon.com.

I sent an email with comments on z4ck, but never got a response back, snif! Anyway, I'm really looking forward to receve my book, which I'll propably read in a night or two !

I have to tell everyone... this book is a great read, and a wonderful sequel to Z4CK! so that is the name! I love reading books especially from the "underdogs." I hope you guys understood the phrase. I went a while back to amazon looking for the book and never found it just because it is so difficult to look for something that was not in your head to begin with. I'll be buy z4ck today and the second one after i finish reading it. as a matter of fact, i am doing just that on my pda. and ill be downloading the pdf files as well.

I read/bought/downloaded Z4CK right after it was released and did the same again for Digital Force.
I'm already half way through reading the PDF version and am having a hard time setting it down and am eagerly awaiting the hard copy.

On a Z4CK note, anyone remember the Palm LifeDrive? XD
They were putting Linux on it last I heard, over at Handhelds.org
|sighs| still not a great port yet, although they've come a long way.
I just keep chuckling about an OpenZaurus port to the "PalmOne Life-Unit"

Thats great! I've had a few people say to me that they wanted a Zaurus because they read Z4CK. Do you think Sharp will ever realise the books exist? Still waiting for the paperba4ck to hit Amazon.com, which is a little frustrating, but I'll post something as soon as it does. Thanks again.

Just finished reading the first book! Very neat!
Great read! Makes me kinda proud to own a Zaurus ... two Zaurii actually ... collie and Akita!
Would make an interesting movie too I say!

We could always make an Embedded-Linux only game from Z4CK?

it's funny, how Duncan's wife can still complain about Dunc not spending enough time with them when the whole internet had just collapsed! hehe
but that's actually a good portrayal of life.

Just a side note, Kevin, have you looked at the PocketPenguin thread in Hardware Modding? The specs list is running somewhere very close to Duncan and Vasili's SL-C4000 (I don't count that as a spoiler. ) and sicne you seem to have a good opinion on it, would you mind having a look and giving an opinion? ^^

oh ya true ... the hardware mod thread definitely rings a bell in me with the modded Zaurus in Z4ck. ... But Z4ck did not mention about transflective screens ... ... I want that! .. hehehe

Heh, this was the general idea we're going for. . . But the modified 4000, not 3100. The current design of the PocketPenguin seems to have been built to support two uses.
Quake 3. (iMX with 3d Accelerator, trackball, good screen.)
Quake 3 ARENA. (MXC300-30 based 3G telephone and Modem)
Am runningk Linux shop.
Haf no need for vindows based Univerrsal.
