gnarlog :try \"cardctl ident\" in a term then just paste the informations you get for your card (product info ans manfid) in your /etc/pcmcia/spectrum.conf or hermes.conf adding either bind \"spectrum_cs\" or bind \"orinoco_cs\" ... try to find out which works with your card .

I\'ve read somewhere OQO will support linux and flipstart have absolutely no willing to support it ... also even if it\'s more expensive than our zauriis, hey look at the specs ...1500~2000$ for 1Ghz cpu/256Mbram/20Gb hard drive and compare to your 700+$ Z with 400Mhz cpu/64or128Mb ram etc... double the price but also double the specs  just throwing my 2 pence anyway

is there any recent port of MySQL for the Z ( ]4.0 ) ? as the most recent i\'ve found is 3.22.something which lacks lots of commands (as i\'m learning SQL by now it would have been great if I could train on the Z but I cant use views nor imbricated functions ...)

Followed instructions given here but even after editing my.cnf it seem mysql still want to use /usr as it\'s home dir ... which is a read only mounted partition so it can\'t write to ./mysql/host.frm ... anyone got it to work ?

is there anyway to get it work with a card which is not working with orinoco driver ?

Try hostap drivers

I finally got it working by adding informations found in cardctl ident in hermes.conf (or .hermes.conf) - think this should work for all those who don\'t get their cards recognised by orinoco drivers

maslovsky, I did reboot it by removing the battery ... anyway I finished by reinstalling the rom but i\'d still like to know if there\'s a file where is stored the state of the screen (lightened up or shuted off) ?

hi I have a problem, restarted the Zaurus with the screen switched off by musicplayer and the screen now automaticaly switches off each time I try to reboot the device (I can\'t swith it back on by pressing cancel as musicplayer isn\'t running anymore) .... please help, i\'d like to be able to recover from that without having to reinstall the full rom

I forgot I did shut off the screen using the music player from the rom and rebooted it instead of pressing cancel to light it up again ... but now the screen is shuting down just after booting so I can\'t do nothing except booting in pure console mode or using my dual boot to go under pdaXrom ... is there any way to fix this and turn back screen on under Qtopia ?

You should search in the forums for \"bricked\" zaurus ... the method consist in reflashing your zaurus with a NAND backup using a special menu ... btw I dont want to give you bad instructions while the good ones have allready been posted

basically, if you\'re able to fit a rom in it it\'s possible ... try to copy cacko or pdaXrom or even openzaurus and if you can have all the files (initrd.bin , updater.sh and eventually tools.rar) in the card then you\'re en route for flashing

well ... good luck finding one used for sale in europe then  (anyway try looking for c7x0 which will be easyer to find I guess than the Cx60 series )
edit : if you don\'t want to pay taxes you can also buy it at shirtpocket which is in england ... but only brand new devices there too

I think it will be hard to find a \"used\" c760/860 in europe (mostly i\'ve ssen were in US or Japan and willing to sell in their own contries ... btw yes I\'ve had to pay taxes :/ (about 150 more € when it crossed french boarders  )
