Astro Slide - Hardware / Re: Keyboard-mat
« on: April 23, 2024, 07:54:20 am »
Hi,

tried with my local repair-shop. He was kind of astonished over this device - and said, they only take main-stream... :-( ... if I could only get hold of the connector mat! Ifixit doesnt have spares either ...

Hi Zimbix

Thanks for your reply.
I never thought of this option, as the astro is such an exotic device. One of the tiny conductors on the mat got interrupted by the key

But it worth a try, in my town there is a repair shop - I will report, what they say.

Astro Slide - Hardware / Keyboard-mat
« on: April 18, 2024, 03:27:03 pm »
Hi

I am using my astro as a daily driver and i am quite happy with it. UNfortunately, the ESC key once got stuck and perforated 2 connection on the keyboard mat. Thus, ESC and 1 key do not work anymore. As a workaround, I remapped ! and 1, but this is not very comfortable.

Is there any way to get hold of a keyboard mat? Any idea about the ODM to ask them directly? Planet, of course, never answered my mail.

A second option for me would be to transplant the mat of my still working cosmo. But before doing so, I would like to have an idea, whether the two are interchangeable? Any hints?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

I wonder were on the xdaforum.com site is the astro device hidden? For a lot of devices, there is a subsection, but I cant find anything for the astro. Only the gemini has its subforum.

Any hint?

As I am very happy with Anlinux, there remain one issue to fix:
Keyboard layout (only in Anlinux, otherwise its perfect) doesnt match 100%. Especially the Fn doesnt work. Any ideas?

Yes, its a different one, this monitor is from a friend. I would never pay 300 bucks only for a monitor  ;)

Astro Slide - Android / Re: Planet Backup - stuck at size estimation!
« on: March 16, 2023, 03:06:50 am »
Hi
I did as you suggested. Unfortunately System and Apps have issues. Documents etc backuped fine.
But to backup my normal data is easy anyway ... so its of no use to me.

Thanks for your advice!

Hi
I tried again Anlinux. Concerning the difficulties with Browser and Libreoffice installation, there are hints at  github and ... on the Andronix Page ;) ...

Now Linux works nicely with Thunderbird, Chromium and Libreoffice - like at home  :) .
So without root - my best option.

Dear Andy thanks a lot for putting all this together. If I got it right, as allways, this wipes all your data?

Tried Andronix, for me the best substitute for a "real" LinuxInstallation on a non rooted astro.
