Is it possible to install Arch under these cirumstances?
« on: November 16, 2018, 03:41:29 pm »
I have a C3000 and for some reason every SD card driver that I find online that makes the Zaurus support over 2gb (i have a gb card), work, ends up not working. I decided to just reflash with the only Cacko version that existed for the C3000 (the beta of 1.23) and it still does not detect my SD card. Can I install Arch on the HDD? I have a CF card that I used to install the beta but it only has 32 megabytes of storage. What do I do?

After installing Cacko my screen began to make a ''bleed'' effect downwards around like 12 pixels long copying the text and image under it. I tried OpenZaurus and to no avail the bleed continues. When the Zaurus boots there is no bleed, and in the ''debug menu'' (where you install new roms and such) there is no such bleed. Also when I had Cacko installed when the clock sprang up after around a few minutes of inactivity there was no such bleed present there either.

Hi DQN,

I am not sure about the cause of the current issue you are facing in regards to the bleed, but you may have some corrupted NAND bits that cause this. There is a NAND check utility in the recovery option if I remember correctly. You can also flash a kexecboot kernel to see if it loads fine and then once it does, you can load Arch or Void from SD card or CF card via the kexecboot menu. Note: I have not tried loading older ROMs via kexecboot and can not confirm that works. Kexecboot will allow you booting OE, Arch and Void. You can find the latest Arch kexecboot in the main thread here in the Arch sub forum, but you can also use the Void kexecboot kernel to start Arch. Older Arch kexecboot:
