hi foilks.

Im a new cl860 owner. Trying to work through some issues, many caused by the my inability to understand japanese... (the manual)

1. where is the reset button?

2. where is the ctrl key on the keyboard?
2.1 generally, can I remap the keys on the keyboard to my likeing?

3. iwconfig doesn\'t believe my ambicom wl1100c-cf wireless card is wireless
Though lsmod shows the prism_2_cs module is loaded and the card *does* work

4. would I (old unix hack) be happier with openzaurus? Does it even work on 860\'s?

Thanks for feedback!
E

1. there is none, to reset the unit you pull the battery out if the unit is unresponsive, or just flick the battery lock switch open and closed again if its working fine.

2. There isn\'t one. You can simulate CTRL+Z / CTRL+X / CTRL+C / CTRL+V by using FN instead, but only for those keys. The X11 ROM remaps the Calendar key to Control though. It\'s also possible to remap the 2 japanese chars to Control and Alt, just poke around the FAQ\'s / How-To\'s to find that info. This will include information on remapping keys.

3. I have no idea.

4. If you\'re into the old-school things I\'d take a look at the X11 ROM. Lot\'s of nice features

To hard reset - switch battery lock to unlock position, wait a few seconds (count to 5) hold down Fn + Homekeys while switching the battery lock back to lock position, in a few seconds the screen will dim and fade to black - you have just powered off the unit. Press the external power button to restart.

Shift + Fn acts as Ctrl for most (All??) applications. But as suggested most people like to remap keys - search for Keyhelper applet to do this.

How to get to the English configuration screen for SL-C860? Same way as for SL-C7x0?
Are described procedures for SL-C7x0 correct for SL-C860?

The C860 is just the C760 with a new color and a translation package and usb storage modules - anything that works fro the C760 should work for the C860 too
