Hi All,
Would anyone know if there is somewhere in Australia selling a Zaurus?
I'd like to get my hands on a 5x00.
Thanks,

I recently tried to find out where to buy a SL6000. Sharp told me flatly that these units are not being imported to Australia. They gave me a list of dealers that might be able to get me a 5xxx machine, but when I called around, they either no longer sold these devices, or didn't know what it was.
I notice that there are a few of them for sale on eBay, it's probably the easiest way to buy one there and get it shipped. Amazon will not ship directly to Aus, as it contravenes some sort of technology export rule, but a private dude on eBay will probably oblige.
I got a SL6000 from Amazon, fortunately we have an office in LA, so I got it shipped there, and they then sent it on to me. I must say the device is ripper, and we are planning on buying a bunch of them :-)

I'm in Australia and went through http://www.pricejapan.com (http://www.pricejapan.com)
Shipped quickly, and the cost was very good (compared to ebay prices, who probably bought it from pricejapan themselves).
I got a C860, but I see they sell the SL-6000W

Did they ship the item with the English OS?
I went to the site and it was very Japanese.

there is an en interface for pricejapan.com, but the shipped Z are in Japanese. Yet the price is v. good and cheap.
my c1k is taken from there...

They have a policy of not opening the box, so its japanese, but the first thing you do is reflash anyway.
Pricejapan are there to provide an english front to buying local japanese stuff. I can't praise them enough. Be warned though that warranty is only for japan, so if you need to claim, you must send it back to pricejapan (at your cost), who then send it to be repaired, then they ship it back to you (at your cost).

I am currently looking into getting a C1k myself (after 6 years in the Pocket PC camp and almost as many years wondering about the Z!) and PriceJapan does seem to have the best prices.
Just wondering how your found dealing with them. Do they take paypal? How many days did it take to ship your Z? Any problems with customs here in Oz?
Any info gratefully recieved!

Well it looks like I am going to have to change my signature - because I am now the owner of a shiny C1000 bought through PriceJapan.
Very very fast service. Ordered it on the Thursday night and it arrived at my door on Monday!
Just installed pdaXrom and trying to get my head around it all. I can see many many "wasted" hourse working out my ROM preferences etc.
Thanks for all the comments.
