Zaurus - pdaXrom / advMame settings

try this, it works with most emulators :

* kill X server (Ctrl+Alt+Back)
* type :           export SDL_NOMOUSE=1
* launch your emulator.

Turning off sound may help.

What game do you play with ?

Does this work with any  mplayer version available for pdaxrom ? I've no server to test it...

  eergh...  

tried this inside x :
- complained about not finding /home/root/.mplayer/codecs.conf
- complained about not finding /usr/etc/mplayer/codecs.conf
- complained about not finding font.desc
- could not access 'termcap' data base

Tried this outside X :
well, let's say that a reboot was needed in order to find back a 'normal' screen  

this seems to be the best i've tried :

Here are the steps needed to play videos in 320x240 fullscreen:

1) First, install mplayer from the pdaxrom feed. No other additional software is needed.

2) Next, create the file /etc/fb.modes with the following contents:

mode "qvga"
geometry 320 240 320 240 16
timings 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
endmode

Now, to play your file, you must first exit from X if you're running it (issue 'killall X' in terminal). You can only play fullscreen video from the console at the moment.

3) When you're in console, run mplayer with the following command:

mplayer -vo fbdev -fbmode qvga -vm -ac mad file.avi

assuming 'file.avi' is the file you want to play.

i'll test whatever you want me to.

just give me instructions.

I've already tried many files from 'Pocket movies' without any trouble but first it was mpg1, second it was outside of X...

I'm not sure of what you want to do, but i guess it might be something useful.

snes9x does'nt work any more with Katherin RC2...

relocation error : ./snes9x : undefined symbol : __umodsi3

any idea ?

oki.

I re tried reverting to default and then reflashed RC2, and it worked
but not with a single partition  ... Never mind, i will wait for official release to correct this.

ergh..... It's even worse than i thought...

* tried to install Katherin RC2, flashing stopped at 72% and i went back to menu. Rebooting only gives me the little tux and tha flashing square...

* used Ashley's script to revert to default kernel and partions to default. tried to flash cacko 1.21, by 75 i got

Serious problem!!!
RO file system: error while flashing.
Press thr [ENTER] key for reboot.

help !!!

same as xumi for me

I downloaded the latest ashley script, everything goes fine until I flash with RC2, it gets to 72%, then it kicks me back to the main menu.

I have a c750, used to run pdaxrom 1.0.5 with a single partition.

dear pdaxrom team : how long have you planned to test this RC ?

I'm just a basic user (i.e. not a programmer) so i might be VERY slow to help the community, even though i would really like to help you.

So i hesitate between flashing this new version (= troubles for my newbie brain BUT involving in a project that is very important to me (I use abiword everyday at University so i owe you something but as a (quite poor) student i can't give money for now...  )) OR keep on playing with my 1.0.5 version (= being sure i won't help anyway)

If this rc is scheduled to stay as the only available version for quite a lot of time, maybe i could be usefull.

i used ashley's cript in order to have a single partiion on my c750 : is RC2 compatible with this ? If yes, it means you have 58 368 k to run... wich is not too much if you want to use your Z as more than a pda...

This is _just_ a question.

Found this on xine website :

libdvdcss 1.2.8 provided here is patched with network support. this makes possible to watch dvds from a remote dvdrom drive.

IF you make xine work properly and IF you COULD  get this network support ok, would it mean that i could watch a dvd on a Z ? Is it powerfull engouh ?
