Would be great to have a decent outliner app (hierarchical...)....
Something similar to StageOne! that I used when using Sharp ROM....
Hierarchical outlining....
Any suggestions??

For GUI, NoteCase is my favorite. It's fast, lightweight and full of functionality (now it can even do some wiki-like things).
It's in the pinned "New Package Announcement" thread. There you'll also find a number of alternatives.
For CLI, I am studying Emacs Planner Mode. The great thing is there is no issue of syncing or cross flatform file sharing. Everything is done in plain text. And being able to implement GTD is the gem.

For my workflow the vimoutliner fits best.
See vimoutliner.org
Obviously it´s a vim extension, so may be some learning required ;-)
For the rest ZDevils remarks for the command line apply here, too.

I can also strongly recommend Notecase.
Many useful features, and the author has implemented many things to make it more usable on the Zaurus.
I donated him a Zaurus for this great work, so we can expect more Zaurus optimizations in the future.

Mmm, not sure, he might spend all his time on the new zaurus now instead of working on notecase ....
There is also : Tuxcards - Treeline - Zim - Gjots - ... available for pdaXrom.

Amazingly he has released three test versions in the last two weeks while he has the Zaurus :-)
I tried the others you mention... I found them either to be not weel enough usable on the Zaurus or to be not powerful enough.
I also tried Leo, this Python-based huge outliner project which is very custimazable and extremely powerful. This looked promising, but unfortunately is not really usable due to performance issues.
