Scaling, DPI, and everything
« on: June 28, 2018, 06:31:36 pm »
I'm running the Stockmind 17.10 Ubuntu distribution. In that my desktop of choice is TDE (https://www.trinitydesktop.org/) and from time to time I get it running well on the GPD Pocket. But then after a logout or reboot, the fonts, window furniture, etc., goes all to hell, all weird sizes, etc. I've run

Code: [Select]
xdpyinfo | -B2 resolution
and gotten

Code: [Select]
dimensions: 1920x1200 pixels (96x60 millimeters)
resolution: 508x508 dots per inch

which is of course wrong, and indeed one of the X configuration files has the correct information.

Is there something peculiar being dome by the GPD machine that causes it to behave thusly? I've gotten KDE/TDE to run just fine on a world of other computers. This is a first and I'm having a terrible time trying to sort it. What config files does X actually read?

Where is scaling for things not GTK set?
dep

Atari Portfolio (yes, it still works and yes, I bought it new)
Libretto 110 CT (with docking station and all kinds of PCMCIA stuff)
And, now, a Gemini and, fortunately, a GPD Pocket
