I love FF3...  using it now... but the weird thing is... I just did an package update on my laptop (ubuntu 8.04) and I now have Firefox 3 (no RC)
I guess ubuntu is deploying it early :-)

Hi :-)
I ask via PM ... (please don't reask, they are on heavy work!) ...

They are doing a complete rebuild on pdaXrom (V2.0.0) on a newer 2.6.xx kernel ... kernel work done by maybe 90% ... I don't know how far is GUI! THey said that if it is going to Beta state there will be an announce on the projects homepage ... Hope to get it soon because angstoem-distribution.org is getting really fine :-)

Please GoOn pdaXrom  ...

Thanks to devs for their hard work !
Martin

Thanks for the info but who is working on this stuff?

Thanks Again for the support Martin, myself and Sash (defiently not MIA). As martin said ,yes pdaXrom is getting built again from scratch, literally, from scratch. We have a working bootable "shell only" rom, with functional CF, USB, SD(MMC), Hotplug, etc. There is still a lot of work that needs to be done but it is being worked on.

pdaXrom isn't dead, we are just hiding :-)

« on: May 01, 2008, 06:52:17 pm »
why do you use xinit?

why not startx? if it is your first boot... then xinit isnt going to verify run the ts_calibrate util and calibrate the use of touchscreen.

Please run startx

pdaXrom Development / Pdaxrom Developement
« on: March 12, 2008, 08:25:03 pm »
Ok.... Keep in mind I'm not speaking for the rest of the pdaXrom devs. But will NOT have anytime for the next few months to even start working on pdaXrom. Currently I just moved into a new position at my job and they didnt backfill my position so I'm doing the work of 2 people and it sucks... So that is where I'm at currently in my life and pdaXrom doesnt fit to nicely in there...

So to Zaurus community, I would like to say sorry and I will be back soon, but hopefully the rest of the devs will back fill in my, hopefully short, absence

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxii13v2 With 2.6 Kernel!?

Hello,

I can't really help you on this but, I'm curious as to why you would want to attempt this?  The 2.6 kernel, from what I understand, has some fairly major design changes in it so most of the working Zaurus 2.4 customizations will not immediately work under a 2.4 kernel.  That is why all the 2.6 kernel based ROM/distros are not Zaurus feature complete.

What he said :-)

there is to many changes to just run up a 2.6x kernel in an environment with the rootfs having 2.4x configs

In 2.6.x it is udev that is causing the devices to mount.

check out /etc/udev/rules.d/udev.rules

In there is this a long list of devices that when detected it runs a script.

Hint: Lines 243-244 for block devices (SD/CF)
