Guess I was lucky with updating my Astro....

Both updates went smooth and no hiccups.

Don't know if it will fix your issue, but Planet is finally about ready to release an OS update soon. Hopefully, next week they said....

OTA (Over-The-Air) update....watch for it.....

Worth a try....

At first I was intrigued by the Pocket Reform.

But the keyboard design just seems odd to me.....

Cosmo Communicator - Android / Re: Can't Turn On Mobile Data
« on: March 01, 2023, 09:50:27 pm »
Sorry, Greg, that was almost 2 years ago.....

I can barely remember what I ate for breakfast yesterday....

Wish I had written it down....and posted the info at the time....

Check in the settings app for items related to mobile data.

If I get a chance, I will look....although I don't have Cosmo anymore....have Astro now with newer version of Android.....

Best,

Mark

Varti, that's a very good question...

Certainly, making phones has been extremely challenging the past few years.

Hope they're not going to produce the XR Mini in China....

I'm pretty much done with products from there....as much as possible, anyway.....

Thanks, MC and Dom for your input. Very helpful and appreciated!

Good to know, MC, about the site that checks if a site is working and agree about IGG....it's a jungle over there....  :)

And good point, Dom, about Android 12 availability..... :)

And will check out your github page when I have some time.

Thanks again!

Hi,

Someone on the IGG Astro comments page said they updated Astro to Android 12.

I tried using the Planet Updater app yesterday, but I get message:

Quote
Error Checking for update.

java.net.ConnectException: Failed to connect to pulsar.planetcom.co.uk/93.189.6.10:443

Tried several times.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi again,

Received my Astro yesterday, 6/24....only took 2 years, 3 months...

Pretty nice so far....

Bit different than using Cosmo....for both physical design and different version Android reasons.

So, in process of getting used to it....

Display is bright, sharp with vivid colors.

Keyboard is good of course...

Will report with more info after using it a few days....

Well......

On about June 9th, I saw my status changed to 'Locked' !

Finally......

Although have not received any email from PC saying my Astro has shipped or a tracking number....

So it goes....

Hi John,

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your input and thoughts....

The Zaurus was great and remember using pdaXrom along with other OS's.....those were the days.

It was a few years ago that 'InSearchOf', the developer popped in and said he might do some updating on it, but unfortunately, don't think he ever did.

See https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?topic=34492.0

Maybe you'll have better luck.

Best,

Mark

Hi Conrad,

It's been years now since I had my 3200, but as I recall I had no problem replacing drive with something like a 8GB CF card.

Since it's been so long, I can't recall for sure whether I duplicated the drive onto the CF card or flashed it.

Changing drive is doable, but please be very careful when you do it so as to not break any cables, connections, etc.

Best,

Mark
