I have been using the Cacko ROM on my C750 with the PIM apps that are built in the ROM.  I have been waiting (& waiting & waiting ....) for tkc to get their sync working so that I could give them a try.  Today Shawn told the mail list that the developer is working on a more important undisclosed project.  So, I am hoping that there may be a product/setting that I may have missed and someone here can point me in the right direction.

I need a PIM that syncs with Outlook ( A must for work.  No choice in this.). I want one that has the ability to delay or snooze reminders and not just dismiss them.  I want a month view that shows more on the display than just colored lines (like Pocket Informant for the PocketPC).  I want one that handles repeating appointments as repeating appointments (not like the frist version Sharp put out).  I want tasks to be able to have alarms as well.

Any ideas??

It sounds like you need more of a PDA than a Zaurus, maybe a cheap PocketPC or Palm.  I thought the Zaurus sync'd with Outlook but if the functionality you need isn't there, I can't see what other option you have.  Will Ko/Pi not help? I only used PIM stuff a few times, but I'm sure I had repeat appointments with the default PIM.

I don't think so, but IT syncs with the built-in PIM and that syncs with Outlook, as I say, I had a fortnightly event in the built-in Calendar, which worked. And in conjunction with Ko/Pi, the alarms can be 'snoozed'.

I wish I could check for you, but I'm running pdaXrom and I don't have windows anyway

What I rememeber regarding the repeat events is the terrible way the original ROM/Calendar on my sl5500 had been handled.  Repeat events in Outlook became individual events on Z.  This caused an issue if series of events in Outlook was cancelled/deleted or trying to cancel/delete all of repeted event on Z.

So what you are saying MIGHT work for me is to first sync Outlook with Calendar from Cacko ROM and then sync with KO/PI??  Would that create 2 reminders?  One from built in PIM and one from Ko/Pi.

Thinking about it, maybe not. If the problem is between Outlook and the Calendar app, Ko/Pi won't help.  What Ko/Pi could do is improve the way you do PIM stuff on the Z, it would give different monthly views and the kind of alarms you want, but Ko/Pi itself will not sync with Outlook directly, but via Calendar.

No, you won't get double entries using Ko/Pi

Maybe a cheap Palm is the only real solution, the Z isn't really a PDA as such, the PIM stuff I think of as a convenience not a primary feature.

I'm sure someone here must be a PIM/sync user and runs Windows/Outlook..  ..anyone?

The latest versions of the Sharp PIM apps with the latest version on Intellisync from Sharp are supposed to sync perfectly with Outlook.

They changed the PIM framework radically between those initial SL-5500 PIM apps and the SL-5600 and later models.

I sync my Zaurus with Outlook every day. It works fine with sharp intellisync and the OZ, or with the Sharp ROM. I haven't tried other ROM's until now, because i need my Z for work. If you need help getting OZ and Outlook to sync, drop me a line: edg3 at hushmail dot com
