Front (small) screen not working

Yesterday, for no apparent reason, my small front screen went weird
Tiny white line in l h bottom corner, nothing else visible, none of the control icons showing on either swipe or scroll-down
Can still receive calls & - if I open it up, make them, but not from the front.  Ditto for all "immediate" front-screen controls.
What has happened?
Is there a repair shop in the UK that deals with Cosmo Communicators?

Yes, but - ONE: Where are they & how do I find them in the UK?
TWO: I may not need repair, anyway - it may be either a software fault, or a simple connection has come undone ( I know the back of the Cosmo can come off really easily... )
THREE: -following "two" is there an esy way of stepping through this fault, to see if it can be easily rectified?

Incidentally, I see that the front/access screen has a second, separate chip - I wonder if that's what's "gone" -or it's connection?

While I'm here, I've got an unwanted shortcut on my main screen - how do I delete these & how do I alter them, if I want to?

That's not software, it's got a crack in either the glass cover or TFT. Suspect TFT. You need a new chip. It's a known bug, and yes, it does use a separate chip (see Cosmo-CoDiOS)

Got it repaired in Cosmo's offices,  paid fee
And - yes there was a small screen-crack, as well
