Well I know I can wait... I've got 5 more hours of normal work and trip home
I'll tinker with it tonight or tomorrow or whenever.

I'll have to wait 'till tonight anyway.
I just arrived at work and won't be home in the next 10 hours or so.
And I won't be able to update while I'm here 'cause I forgot my AC-power supply (damn!)

Looking at what the pdaXrom team already managed to do so far, I know that every hour that passes by before the release will just make it a better rom.
So I don't mind waiting at all.

Laze Sash, follow the advices don't put so much pressure on yourself sleep well, take your time, release when you want otherwise working on pdaxrom will cease to be fun and you'll stop working on it alltogether.

Let's face it, we are all excited by the new release but no one said that delaying the release  is a problem.

Allow me to concur with the previous comments.  I, like everyone else in this thread, am waiting anxiously (esp after reading all the fixes and addtions!) for the new release but I would rather you fully satisfied and comfortable with its status than rush you in any way.  Take your time, have some fun with it, and when you are ready, so are we!  rc5 is a fine release canidate and rc7 should be even better.  I'd rather the comfortable polish than the rushed release.   Thanks for your work!

Laze! Just wondering: I got a bluetooth interface, which I hoped it would be the right one, but when I opened the box it was an Ambicom BT2000-CF ... (not the model that worked with sharp zaurus OS) ....

Is this fixed in pdaxrom ? or is it plainly that there is NO linux driver for this small thingy ?

Cheers !!!!!

Sash has been awake for like 40 hours now and so have I almost - so now we will sleep for a couple of hours while the ROM is compiling.

Awake for 40 hours!  That is too much time without sleep.  I'd rather that you took care of your selves and released the next RC in a week’s time or when ever.

To those who don't care how hard the guys push themselves, look at it this way, this next release is still going to be just a release candidate.  If the guys over work them selves there are three likely results:

1. They make more mistakes and the whole process takes longer.

2. They get sick because their immune systems are suppressed and the whole process takes longer.

3. They start to resent doing this work for you, essentially for nothing and the whole process stops!

I don't know Laze and Sash at all, but while we're all waiting here are my guesses:

1. They like working this way. They set artificial deadlines by announcing release dates to push themselves harder.  Read the announcements as goals, not promises.

2. Every bug they take an extra five minutes to fix saves dozens -- perhaps hundreds -- of us from spending ten minutes each (or in my case probably an hour) figuring out how to fix it ourselves.

3. An RC is not a beta and should be polished. In many projects the last RC becomes the release. Too much polishing after the last RC will likely mean a buggier release.

4. They aren't heartbroken by criticism. They know how hard they're working and how much they've accomplished.

5. They appreciate compliments in the forum, but appreciate compliments in the form of contributions more -- as well they should.

6. They probably have a business plan for some use of their fine work which we will learn about when the time comes. If they don't, they should.

Keep up the good work guys.

the server has been quite busy, as you can see from the stats on the bottom of the forum main page, we've hit new highs...  I'm worndering if it's the pdaxrom release that's causing the spike in traffic, or anything else...

good thing is that I haven't noticed any bit of slow down because of this...

Current bandwidth utilization 630.11 kbit/s

i guess every pdaXrom user is waiting and about to break his F5 key...

UPDATTE : Oki, nearly 23:00 here in France. I have to go to bed. No RC7 for today, maybe tommorrw. I've only been awake for about 20 hours and i am damn tired. Sash and Laze are incredible ! I've never seen anyone working so hard on a free project. I wish the headmaster in the school i work (headmastress... is that an english word ? never mind...) could work that hard...

Good night everyone, and try not to burn servers this night !
