Codi firmware update stays at 0%
« on: February 26, 2021, 06:45:44 pm »
Hi all,

I just got my Cosmo today and am bummed to see how dorked up the firmware update process is for Codi. Basically I turned the unit on, saw the notification to update Codi, I clicked the notification, the firmware update failed, and now Codi is totally unresponsive. I've tried the usual stuff:

* reboot
* factory reset
* enabling 'do not disturb' and 'airplane mode'
* manual firmware update

nothing. the Codi version reads as 'Unknown' The best I seem to be able to do is to start the firmware update and have it sit there at 0%. The message says 'Flashing resource image' but nothing seems to be happening. It's been over an hour.

I've seen on these forums and elsewhere that the firmware updating process is super-jenky and folks have had to try multiple times (dozens in some cases) to get anything to happen. My question to y'all is whether or not the update process sitting at 0% for a long period of time is normal? At what point does 0% becomes something non-zero?

thanks!

*EDIT*

found this which got me further along:
https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?topic=36139.msg294968#msg294968

Basically - what I did was
1. download the files
2. point the Cover Display Assistant to the firmware file via the 'advanced' menu
3. as the poster suggested, I ignored the 'app keeps crashing' error
4. went back into the Cover Display Assistant
5. turned Codi off via the android settings menu
6. flashed

the progress bar is movinating !!!!!!!
