Thanks to the Imtech 40m crane I was able to take a picture of the Vestingbar during the Bata. This picture was taken during the preparations for the party.
The serious phase of apartment moving has started last week and I’m right within. Please bear with (even more) latency in answering E-Mails for the next three weeks. I will probably also be completely offline for some days mid-May while the landline and DSL get “moved”. In case of emergency, call my mobile.
Well, that was easy but worth mentioning.
Samba server seems to be already activated on the zaurus, all I did is typing in konqueror:
smb://192.168.1.31 (ip of my z on my intranet) and I get my /home folder.
Interresting to note the speed of transfer for a 5 MB file was 474 KB/s which is quite good I though.
I the put an "link to URL" icon on my KDE desktop and I have a direct link. The z is just seating on my shel with the cover closed and I access and browse my file in Konqueror with previews etc activated, very handy!
Greetings
Yes It's me again with another question I just loaded ROX Filer into my unit and due to a large number of packages remover I rebooted the system
Now instead of the usual screen with all the programs listed I get a gray screen with a home folder in the left hand corner
I have tried the Look and feel in the start menu but nothing happens
What Happened
Thanks Andy

To access my linux-box from the Zaurus, I use tightvncserver from the linux-box and keypebble to acces it from the Z.
I thought I d just share the fact that you can configure the display on the server. The optimum resolution and colour depth for me seems to be 750x400 with 16 for the color depth.
To start the server one just needs to type :
[stephane@localhost ~]$ vncserver -geometry 750x400 -depth 16 :1
This week end I had a quick look on how to shrink a video in order to watch it on the Z...
Here is what I came up with so far, I need to improve a bit the quality, but that gave me a video as follow :
Video identification script
Part of the tovid suite, version 0.28
with: core magick dvd vcd

tyrannozaurus: IPK Will Not Install (Sun, 29 Apr 2007 13:28:34 +0100)
Our Zaurus community obviously urgently needs one comprehensive how-to page on this topic. I've thought about writing up this area, on my own, for our "book", but feel overwhelmed. However, I realized I could ask tyrannozaurus members to share what they know on this topic, so here I am, asking for help. I've posted a skeleton below, but I also have very specific questions I need help with.
I posted this :
http://mandrivausers.org/index.php?showtopic=40939
in order to let know mandriva users who are potential zaurii users to know the site. It would be a good idea to do the same if anyone uses unbutu or suse etc...

tyrannozaurus: Product of a Union Soldier (Sat, 28 Apr 2007 08:29:47 +0100)
Way off topic, but...
"...it seems a stray bullet actually pierced the testicle of a Union soldier and lodged itself in the ovaries of a woman standing approximately 100 ft. away. She's alright, the baby's doing fine...of course the soldier's a little pissed off..." -Tom Waits
Just a line from a song that I remembered. It should make most people chuckle. If I offended you, I'm sorry, but it's been a long week.
It seems as though OpenZaurus has finally been laid to rest. The developers have been working on two ROMs for a while, whith more and more migrating to Angstrom. More information can be found at the OpenZaurus Blog Entry.
I wish the developers at Angstrom the best of luck
