Hi,
i got a problem with the new installer of pdaXrom, done byAshley.
The Install of pdaXrom with the new installer worked, i made the
backup to the 760-kernel, but forgot to set the partiton-size from
45MB to 57MB (Ashley is not to blame, it was my fault). And now...
...i cannot flash anymore. I´m able to reach the Flash-Menu, i can
choose SD, but after that he just starts pdaXrom.
(Tried that with my SD-Card (pdaXrom-install-files on it), and with my
CF-Card (Cacko1.22-install-files on it), both didn´t work.)
PdaXrom itself runs smoothly, but since i forgot to set the partition on 57MB i´m
out of space, and that´s why i want to reflash.
Even so i cannot go into the Servicemenu, cause the "D"+"M"-Method
don´t work anymore!!!
[EDIT] But if it´s a help, i can describe the screen i get from pdaXrom.
It doesn´t boot completely, i´ve got the blue pdaXrom-screen at top,
under that a few pages text going through so fast that i can´t say what
it was. But it halted now, and the last line is:
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel
and that´s it. I think he has all modules loaded necessary for pdaXrom
to start, i read something about "usb", "cramfs", "net_fd", "vendorID" and
so on...
[EDIT2] and what the hell happened that i can´t access the servicemenu???
any hints/tips?
Nico

You most probably can try the nand-restore options, if everything fails.
-
How?
I can´t access the service menu!
If i take the battery out, wait 5 sec, put the battery in, hold "d" + "m" and
close the battery-switch to "operate", the service menu should appear,
but it happens nothing! The screen remains black...
Furthermore, it seems that it´s doesn´t matter if the sd/cf-card is inserted
or not. The boot-procedure looks totally the same.
I´ve got no further ideas. What i´ve tried so far:
- deinstalled the apps i´ve installed. Maybe the flash needs space in the rom-area?
But the flash failed...
- formatted the sd again with FAT, recopied the install-files. But the flash failed again...
- formatted the cf with FAT, copied install-files from cacko 1.22. But even the flash with
Cacko doesn´t start...
i´m really out of ideas...

for the service menu you plug in the power adaptor also right?
I suggest you try a bit harder to get access to the service menu, I think that you Z would not function at all if this menu was corrupted.
I've seen a lot of people having difficulties to access these menu (including me) and there are 3 or 4 slightly different recipees to gain access to these menu (ie inserting the power before closing the battery switch, personally i don't put the battery inside etc...).
-
Right, the power adapter is plugged in.
i tried everything whats written in the manual, but it didn´t work.
I now tried it without inserting the battery, but that fails also
(the battery-led blinks now, but that´s it. The service-menu doesn´t appear)
For example i inserted the powerplug everytime before closing the battery switch.
(as it´s written to do so in the manual)
EDIT: and the Z is away from this operating totally normal. I can access my apps,
i can play games, hear mp3´s, but i can´t access the service menu.
I can access the Flash-menu but the flash didn´t start, as mentioned above before...

try this
1). Remove battery completely
2). Hold down FN D M and then plug in AC power

just came from shopping, read it, test it, and now
i´m in the servicemenu !!!
Great hint xiaman !!!
i now recover my zaurus with the standard-rom,
then try to install pdaXrom new.
[EDIT] I´m now in the service-menu, downloaded the original
systc750.dbk to make a NAND Restore, put it on my FAT-formatted-CF
and after i clicked the "FULL NAND Restore" Button, it says:
Can not initialize CF
What could this be???
-
Problem solved.
Just make the NAND Flash Restore from your SD, not from your
CF !!!
Functions everytime with every SD-Card you can imagine...
