Post by: BarryW on January 15, 2005, 02:06:46 am
Anybody know of a driver that works with the Z's for the cuecat usb barcode scanner??  Been looking around but can only find stuff for 2.x kernels.

I just got my modified usb cuecat off of ebay.
I plugged it into the Z6K via the iRiver cable and it just worked!
No driver installation at all it's just a usb kdb to the Z

I did notice that it started up fully lit, not flashing in a low pwr mode like in Windows (which recognized it as a cue cat)

You can remove all the serial number and encryption crap:

After that, it's just like a keyboard.  These are selling on ebay with the mods already performed.  Mine is working and I didn't install a thing.
