Title: Zaurus Forensics
Post by: Merardon on January 26, 2005, 10:38:34 am
Are there any computer forensics applications available for the Zaurus? I've been looking around, and I can't seem to find any. It's for the SL-5500 with the latest OpenZaurus. Thanks in advance.

Well, rip the ROM w/ dd, copy it to your desktop and mount it, then use standard linux apps.
Would be way easier than compiling these apps for a Z IMO.

Never tried it though, just a guess. But worth a try.

I meant the other way around, using the Zaurus as a forensics tool. Examples would be copying dumps to a cf card (or hard drive if you like, via adaptor), and analysing them on the Zaurus. Another example would be using the IR to examine Pocket PCs and Palm. (If possible). I recognize that it wouldn't be as useful as say, F.I.R.E., but either way, the more tools that are available, the easier it becomes.
