Well, do like I and a few others have done and make a donation to the cause!

Several of us C3000sters have donated $20 to Maslovsky for example to help him get a C3000 and put out a CackoROM for us.

Would do the same for Laze/pdaXrom but he said it wouldn't make a difference to him right now....

Small price to pay I think for getting some alternative ROM's available to us and all the hard work the developers put into it.....

thats all fine and dandy, but 5 to 10 people donating 10-20 bucks over the period of 5-8 months does no good.
let them buy it theirselves, develop, then ask for donations.  your donating $ to something that may never be.

Understand your point, but, we've got a 'chicken and the egg' then going on here...

The specific developers have been content with their current Z's...so they haven't gone out and bought a new C3000.

Therefore, the thought was that if we show them that there's some REAL interest in the Z community for them to get one and creating a C3000 version of their ROM's then this might expedite the process.

Obviously, no guarantees but some of us thought it was worth a couple of bucks to give them an incentive....as all of us with C3000's would end up benefiting more.

Sometimes, 'money talks and $#@* walks'.....

i understand. but who wouldnt want a zaurus with a 4gig harddrive!!!! its sweet.
but, when they developed for the other zaurus, they had to buy them.  so why should this one be different?

I think you are missing the point here...it seems like those of you who own the C3000 would like to hasten the developement time for those who do develop on these beauties. In order to do that, then you would add incentive to them to develop on the newer machines. They have made wonderful adjustments on their machines because they wanted the change for themselves, and they are also willing to "share" it with others.  But to get them to move to another machine quicker - will just give them a new toy in their hand and watch what happens.  Or try developing on your own.....

Just my take
