Title: English-russion Translator/dictionary
Post by: systemparadox on January 29, 2005, 09:33:55 am
I have had my Z for several months now, and have only just remembered the main reason I bought it in the first place- to use it as a russian translator/dictionary.

Does anyone know of any good free software which I can use for this?
Or, if there are no free apps, what the best one to buy is?

I would really like one which can have plugins so it can do other languages too: Japanese, Spanish, Polish, French and German are also on my list.

Thanks
Simon

Zbedic. As for the russian-english dictionaries - there are some very good ones in Cacko feed (http://cacko.biz/cacko/feed).

How do I get cyrillic fonts/encoding/support/whatever? At the moment i only get squares (on the keyboard too).

By "as for the russian-english dictionaries" i assume you are referring to the fact that there is only english-russian on the bedic sourceforge page.

Thanks

Zbedic looks pretty good, but i'd like to try out a few (if there are any more)- can anyone else suggest any?

Is it possible to get zbedic to translate the other way without installing a whole dictionary (currently i have to have one dictionary for english-russian, and another for russian-english)

What about something which can translate whole sentances?

I have managed to get cyrillic characters to display in zbedic using the unifont package, but the on screen keyboard is still displaying squares. How can i fix this?
Also, what about cyrillic support for the handwriting recognition?

Thanks
Simon
