Sometimes Qtopia-Advancedfm is a nice app to have. Particularly since it shows the file system type & free space up in the top bar.
The v1.0 that I have been running on the regular Sharp ROMs has a problem in landscape mode, however.
It cuts off part of the top. (see attachment image)
Advancedfm (qtopia or opie) is not listed in the Cacko feed. Can you "make it so"?
-
Newer advancedfm automatically splits the panes into two side by side, maybe you want to give that a go.
-
The advancedfm in opie/3.5.2 is way way better than either the one in sharp rom or the older opie advancedfm. absolutley, the 2 pane config makes in much nicer to use.
(unsolicited testimonial hehe)

Thank you.
Always good to hear good comments about my applications.

is there a version for Qtopia/sharprom? I'm using the older one from mazlovsky's site at the moment and would love to switch (not yet back on opie/oz w./my 6k).

Will any of the newer versions run under Cacko? v1.22, of course. I had seen them but wasn't sure if they would & hadn't taken the time to get them and experiment (G).
-
The new version of it uses a special opie only widget that detects the screen and does a side by side views if it is large enough. I don't know of any for the Sharp rom yet, but someone could certainly compile it, along with libopie2.
-
Unfortunately the big screen version still contains the bug that advancedfm doesn't grok which tab should be active.
-
lpotter, you didn't compile this for Qtopia? i am astonished
there is already a libopie2 v. 1.8.2-20031220 available as an ipk.
is a newer one required?
and where might the sources for advanced fm be found? this might be a way to tryout zgcc on something I actually want compiled.

Miami_Bob: Yes, nearly all Opie programs run (or ran at some point of time) on the SharpROM. It just takes someone interested enough in compiling them w/ the appropriate toolchain.
adf: In the Opie cvs. This libopie2 ipk is much too old - libopie2 is still far away from library freeze.

I was afraid of that. i'll look into it, but I wonder if by the time i get the library sorted out, the OZ/6000 issues that bother me ( wireless flakiness, suspend/resume instability, zoom, sdl and emulation) might be taken care of, In which case it might be simpler to just flash.
