There is a slideware component to gnome-office but the name escapes me. Also there is KPresenter from KOffice. I dont think IPK's exist, so compling on PDAX would be needed.

thank you for help.
no slideware in G-office,i think. i don't seek it .
koffice is compled by any one?

Please, search sourceforge.net or freshmeat.net (etc) for something that might do the job, then ask someone whether they're able to compile it (for pdaXrom). If there's nothing out there, then ... there's nothing out there.
Continually bumping this thread will not make a powerpoint clone appear overnight

I find that OpenOffice isn't stunningly fast, but it's not exactly slow either on my C1000.
Wasn't there a Sharp PowerPoint viewer?
-
Yes, there WAS a Sharp Hancom Presenter (from SL-5500 software, if I'm correct), but it has two major disadvantages: 1) It's for Qtopia ROM only, though I should once try it under newly-compiled Qtopia for pdaX; and 2) It's as much of cheap bastard as to show only text and NO images at all (background and so on). Let alone animation..

hi
so what about a powerpoint viewer for pdaxrom ?

Export your presentation as JPGs and view them with GQView
Seriously: I have not seen any besides OpenOffice yet. And OpenOffice doesn't do the job too well.
BTW: Where did it come from? Did anyone compile it by themselves?
It would be great to have the latest version as ARM binaries, maybe even without the need to have a debian environment loaded, which (as far as I understood it so far) connects to the pdaXrom X server via TCP/IP to display the OpenOffice GUI... That MUST be slow!

Maybe someone should take a closer look at these :
http://www.gnome.org/projects/agnubis/ (http://www.gnome.org/projects/agnubis/) = the gnome one
http://member.wide.ad.jp/wg/mgp/ (http://member.wide.ad.jp/wg/mgp/) = Magic Point presentation viewer
http://live.gnome.org/Evince/SupportedDocumentFormats (http://live.gnome.org/Evince/SupportedDocumentFormats) = support in Evince is planned
http://tonicsystems.com/products/viewer/ (http://tonicsystems.com/products/viewer/) = java ppt/pps viewer (light and fast is what I read about it)
10' of googling can give nice results.
