Title: Nomore Contacts After Tkc Addressbook Install Help
Post by: rip on February 09, 2005, 06:29:55 am
hello all, i've searched the forum with no luck, so i'm posting...

after having installed tkc-addressbook 1.5.0-3 ipk, i can't access my contacts anymore

launching addressbook from terminal session tels me :
"error while loading shared libraries : addressbook: undefined symbol: __14tkcApplicationPCcRiPPc"

and when uninstalling tkc package, contacts icon and addressbook from terminal have disapeared!!!

i've made a soft reset, rebooted with ipk installed or not, same issue.

for the moment i'm trying to download ka/pi and opie adressbook to test but could you help me please?

thanks to all

Did your version of tkcAddress book come with an ipk named theKompany.ipk? Some versions required this which contains a common library. It looks like it is missing this.

tkcAddressbook will not be able to read the contacts you currently have on your SL-6000 anyway because it uses the old XML format for storing data. Sharp switched to a propriertary data format called DTM a while ago and your 6000 uses this. Syncing will also not work with tkcAddressbook because of this.

to answer your questions, i installed the tkc company ipk. but the message was appearing even with it installed.
