Title: Wpa Support
Post by: pdaxbob on February 11, 2005, 09:50:19 am
Hi all,

I've been running pdaXrom for a while using WEP keys, but I now have a shiny mythtv box in my living room and I want to start using more services on my wirless network. Up until now I've only ever used wifi for ssh, so I wasn't too concerned about WEPs inadequacies. Now however I want to start making more use of the network and would like to secure it properly with WPA-PSK.

I have been unable to find any support for WPA in PdaXrom upto RC8. Is there a wpa_supplicant package for the latest RCs? Does the pdaXrom kernel support the necessary wireless extensions? If it isn't currently supported, is it on the roadmap?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hello,

As far as I know there isn't any wpa_supplicant package already compiled... I'm too lazy to make one so I just compiled the program and put it into /usr/loca/sbin

The kernel already includes the right wireless extension to make it work, anyway.

About the roadmap, I don't know.

Ciao,

Andrea
