Hi guys.
I have openzaurus 3.5.2 and a Sl-5500. I want install the latest version of KO/PI. First I install kmicrokdelibs; after korganizer file, but aqpk doesn't find libmicrokde. I got all the files from the same package (pi-sync.net). I know there is a KO/PI version on openzaurus feed, but I've some problems with that programas and I want test the newest version Some idea ?
Thanks for your time

hi,
in the release notes of the PI packages from the pi-sync feed there is a mention that the packages arent for OZ3.5.2. they are for earlier versions. i think the only PI packages that are meant to work are those which are in the upgrade feed.

Thanks for your reply.
When I installed pi-sync, I saw that text. If this software can'r tun with the opie package manager, why there's a file for open zaurus?

Hi,
if I recall correctly the release notes say "the packages*might* not install"
I actually use 2.0.6 with OZ3.5.2 and it seems to be working fine. Mail sends and receives messages, I use the organizer quite a lot, I haven't noticed anything strange in the addressbook.
In my case using "--nodeps --force-overwrite" ipkg options did the trick. I might have run 'ldconfig' after install but I don't really remember now. Note that I had the OZ3.5.2 versions installed before, not sure if tat helped in any way.
Anyway, why not giving it a try?

yatza

It works. The same files and disabling dependendes and overwrite and it works. Thank You
PD: When I want insert a new contact on Ka/pi, the program saids me that there is not resource. Is this normal ? I can't create new contacts

heh.. I like to read about problems which users got by using non-compatible software...
Go into thread 10519 and...
-
Hrw: no offense, but that was helpful in what way? Did I missed anything in that other thread? Your updated version 2.0.1 is a good thing, but we're discussing 2.0.6 and how to make it work with latest OZ. But it makes one thinking what exactly a “non-compatible software” would be in open source terms....? Nah, sorry I'm just messing now ;-P
Anyway...
mimeca: I've just checked that adding a new contact works just fine in 2.0.6. Did you set your resources up? (“Settings/Configure resources” -- a file with a default path usually does the trick ) Somehow I got the impression you're just upgrading PIM and it's already configures
Good luck,
yatza

I guess I have found the reason for the "wrong dependency" problem.
It may work for version 2.0.8.
@mimeca:
I guees the addressbook plugins (needed for the actual data access) are not installed properly.
@ another OZ user:
This weekend I will flash OZ 3.5.2 on my of my Z 5500 and try to make the packages I deliver on SF installing on OZ 3.5.2.
BUT can anybody give me a hint how to install a local package?
Do I need to install it from command line?
(If yes, I hope that the terminal works this time. Last time I tried OZ (3.5.1) was a disaster, not even the terminal was working...)

I created that thread to get info from users which packages they want upgraded - today I will push kdepimpi 2.0.7 there.

Ops.. I overlooked - zautrix compiled 2.0.6 with gcc 3.x - by "non-compatible" I meant sharpROM ones.

opie-packagemanager from "upgrades" feed can install local packages afaik.

terminal works ok

Cheers Hrw. That was quick. There are no release notes for 2.0.7 in SF yet... Just wondering if there's anything significantly different from 2.0.6 that would justify another upgrade. But it's definitely good to have a choice

Ooops, I forgot to add them to SF.
You will find the release notes always here:

Zautrix, You need
- libstdc++6 (development folder)
- kmicrokdelibs
- kmicrocal
- kmicroabc
In that order, installation goes OK. After that, I installed kopi and kapi. If installer program saids that you haven't kmicrokdelibs, don't panic. You must select that packages, Install button, Options, Force dependences and overwrite. Then install
This work for me

@yatza
2.0.7 have recurrent todos
@mimeca
kdepim/pi 2.0.x from OZ doesn't need libstdc++
