My linux skills are still not up there where I can cross compile yet, but those of you that are may want to take a look at this terminal:
mrxvt source code (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=114665&package_id=130005)
It's similar to aterm but has tabbed vt, it supports transparency and everything. I've been using it in my fvwm desktop and it is very cool.
Cheers,
Jerry

Sweet! pgas thanks for the link!
***update***
In order to get this ipk to work, I had to edit the mrxvt.desktop file and remove the command line arguements. I use a .Xdefaults file to control the mrxvt, just like aterm. I've been playing with it for a while now & I think they may have compiled it with only certain features enabled. I haven't been able to get tranperency to work. It's either because, I've not set the modifiers correctly or it wasn't compile to include it. When I get home tonight I'll check my desktop settings to see if got them correct. It is great having tabbed terminals and not multiple instantances of aterm all over the place
