Title: Battery Applet And Hybrid
Post by: JoP on February 16, 2005, 01:59:01 pm
I tried battery applet from Cacko's site (http://my-zaurus.narod.ru/opie.html#battery) with Cacko rom on my 5500, and it worked. It showed real battery level, as brightness applet had the LCD OFF button and it worked also.
Now I'm trying Hybrid rom with Qtopia 1.6.2, and, since those applets come from same Qtopia version, I guess applets from Hybrid Rom apps (qpe-batteryapplet and qpe-brightnessapplet) should work the same way. But they don't
How can I get battery applet (and brightness applet) to work with Hybrid?
I've tried many things, even installing ipks ported by Cacko from Qtopia 1.6.2, but got no nice results.
Btw, is there a solution for Hancom apps to work with Hybrid?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to know if Hancom apps work as well.  I really need a spreadsheet program

I think if you go to the launcher and unmark the new items, exit the program, then start the launcher again to mark the new applets as showing,  they should work.  It has for me.

As for Hancom - I don't know yet.  The notes said you could get them to work easily by creating a symlink to quickexec...but I haven't found quickexec in order to create a symlink to it.  It must be there somewhere though, because other apps do quickexec.

You can try with Hancom apps found here:
http://www.nayr.net/zaurus/feed/ (http://www.nayr.net/zaurus/feed/)

I tried with version 1.0 of the same packages and they did work, tho I didn't like that old version.
I didn't try this since I'm not using Hybrid right now.
Don't forget to install Hancomlibs, I had to do so in version 1.0
