Title: Building A Custom Oz Rom?
Post by: victorhooi on February 22, 2005, 01:20:19 am
Hi,

Could anybody point me out to documents on how to build my own OpenZaurus rom? I'm interested in creating a gpe image with GPE 2.6, Matchbox 0.9.3 etc. I've searched high and low, and can't seem to find any sources on this (except for the OpenEmbedded Wiki, which talks only about compiling applications, not ROMs).

Anyway, congrats to the OE team for some really nice work. My only niggle (and no insult meant to them) is that the documentation seems a little sparse. I've seen the post on the documentation project, and I'm hoping once I get this ROM built, I could write something up (although as you can see, my knowledge of Zaurii is somewhat limited).

Thanks,
Victor

Use gpe-image as a start point, rename it, tweak it, and bitbake your-gpe-image instead. That should be it. If you have more concrete questions, use the OpenEmbedded mailing list: oe@handhelds.org
