I recently won ebay auction and bought an SL-C860 brand new in box for GBP300 (about USD570) from this guy:
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZthisisde1 (http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZthisisde1)
The auction was uncontested, my first and only bid won! He's very responsive to emails, seems very willing to do bundles etc.
he says he is going to have some 6000s sometime soon, and he also gets some good deals on other v small laptops, and flash memory cards. He says he'll email me when he has some more Z's to sell.
I'll let the group know when the Z arrives to verify the seller's credentials. Meanwhile I've got to decide what ROM to flash, this will be my first Z and I'm wetting my pants in anticipation!

good buy Speculatrix. The C860 is the best of the C series I belive (incl C3000) price-performance wise.
As for the ROM's, jump straight in to the Cacko ROM's - 1.22 full or 1.22 lite for the best of the Sharp compatible ROM's or for an X experience - what esle - the PDAXROM.
I have been using the 1.22 lite - its a lean and mean ROM - leaving lots of space on my C750 for apps I really need leaving aside all the other unused apps that just waste space on the ROM.
All the best

Hi Nilch,
I bid on your 6000, but it started to get too heavy for me, especially since I was torn over the 860 or 3000! I think Sharp compromised too much when they created the 3000; but that's for a different forum.
I've lusted after a Z since the 5000, never had the money for one before (still don't, really, but when you wake up and rush to check ebay to see if you've not been beaten, you know you've got to give in to that kind of urge!).

Yeah, I've concluded that Cacko is the best first step, once I've converted it to English and made appropriate backups! I've read the OZ forums, and I thought about pdaXrom but I know X11 is a real hog! That's a big strength of the 3000, enough disk space to save lots of OS backups!
But we're straying off topic for this forum again
cheers

My 860 is due any day now. I'll shout when it arrives.
Meanwhile, thisisde1 has listed a 6000:

received my 860 over the weekend... woohoo! visiting family so had to be very restrained to actually spend time with them.
item escaped close inspection in transit (good labelling), I won't say more.
the only downer was that a nasty screen protector was fitted which gave a weird moire fringe effect, and at first I thought that the Z was faulty; removed it, fitted one from my Palm T3 (with 2mm snipped off) and much much better. I think I'll get an ultraclear one from Brando along with a hotsync/charge and replacement pentopia stylus.
just converted it to English, am running a full flash backup before converting to Cacko.
wife already reminded me twice it's bedtime, but SLEEP IS FOR POCKET-PC LOVING LOSERS!

Nice one, enjoy, I may be tempted back into the Z fold with the C1000. Have fun with it ;-)
See what the wife starts saying when you take it to bed and are coding at 4am, oh, maybe it's just me that does that!

I used to surf the net on my Palm T3 whilst wife reading in bed. It was very useful for online thesaurus and quick lookups, but without a keyboard (and setting up the palm folding keyboard was a pain) it was somewhat limited. I don't aim to start perl or QT hackery in bed!
