This is my first attmept to install OpenZauarus on my SL-5600. I have followed the instructions set out here (http://openzaurus.org/web/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22&Itemid=44) and I am getting some very strange results.
Firstly, my PDA goes as far as giving me the error message Kernel panic: attemtping to kill init! and then stalls.
Secondly, now that I have flashed my original ROM when I get the the "update" part of the process the desktop is not responding.
Thirdly, the process deletes the files on my CF and replaces them with about 1158 levels of the /mnt/cf directories. The only way to delete this is to format the CF. I'm using a 512MB Compact Flash Card. It's the one I use my my camera so I am guessing it should be OK.
Any ideas what is going on?

Hi Dave.
- Why don't you format the media (SD / CF) before you put the files you must install?. Sometimes, I must format the CF card if I want install Openzaurus
- Do you rename the files correctly ?

Thanks for the advice.
I have checked and re-check the names on the files and so I am sure they are correct.
If I format the CF what format to use? My operating system is FC3

I've just re-done this exercise and noticed tht during the boot up process it says updater.sh not found. This is strange because I definately installed in the /mnt/cf diretory on the CF.
The installation proceeds until the error message:
kernel panic: attempted to kill init!
That's where I am at the moment.
Frustrating to saythe least ...
