why C860 is more expensive than c1000?

Wow the dealers are getting on the bangwagon real fast.
Good for us. $549 (plus $32 shipping) doesn't seem like a bad price - in fact thats the most appealing thing about the C1000 (over the C3000) you get most of the features of the C3000 for a much more affordable price.
I think I will fall for this soon.

I, on the other hand, (gee I been posting this everywhere) will wait for software support.
Nice box, nice price. w/ OZ 3.6 n kernel 2.6, or w/pdaXrom I'd be interested. With sharprom it is less machine than my 6k, in a nicer form, and nothing but.

because C860 is discontinued. In USA, old out-of-production models are uaually pricier than newer models on distributor's webpage.
I might purchase C1000 as well. One Z is just not enough for me since I can't experiment with it and reliably use it at the same time.

I am tempted, but I think the $699 dynamism are charging is profiteering.

I think you'll find that Dynamism spend a fair amount on supporting the item and handling warranties; I think they do also make a healthy profit. But consider, if you were importing small numbers of a specialist product, would you be wanting to do it for a very tight margin if you were going to have to handle returns, potentially idiot customers and faulty goods?
If you want cheap and relatively unsupported, PriceJapan are your best bet.

Good idea, but I don't feel very comfortable with that option.. if it breaks I'm totally stuffed! Doubt I'd get a UK compatible mains adaptor either. It's academic as they don't list the C1000 yet.
UPDATE: They are now listing it, £269 to UK
-
Remember you may also get hit by import duty and VAT when importing to the UK. Purposefully trying to avoid this tax, such as undervaluing the item, is illegal.
Having said that, I've had several high value items imported and while everything was properly marked, customs still missed them. I guess it also depends whether the courier takes it upon themselves to collect these taxes,

I believe PriceJapan *do* offer this option of a UK adaptor. It's not obvious but you can click on the price/euro symbol and a page comes up with the options.
