Debating on which version to install... 1.05 or RC9
My usage requirements will be speed (Are either/both using the new kernels that enable to C700 to go faster, forgot the name of that patch) Since both SDKs are out, I can always compile up my own apps if needed.
So is there any glaring problems with 1.05, or should I just take the jump to RC9 ?

There's no real reason to stick to the 1.0.5 version. 1.1.0 RC9 is more fast, stable and have more package to install than 1.0.5.

I initially installed 1.0.5 before moving up to RC9. The only value in doing this was to see how much progress has been made with RC9!
I found 1.0.5 to be little more than an X Server with some add-ons. RC9 is a completely different experience. It is amazing how much they have done and how close to a linux workstation it now is.
Also, there is much more info in the posts on RC9 so you will find it easier to get answers.

Don't even bother with 1.0.5-- it's not worth it. I don't even know why it's still available on the site. RC9 is the way of the present and future.

RC9 is at 1.0.5 as RedHat 5 is at Ubuntu.
With 1.0.5 you feel like you have installed an alpha version; RC9 is definitely something you can pay for. Actually, RC9 is as stable as the default ROM

Actually, RC9 is as stable as the default ROM
While I think pdaXrom is really cool, the original ROM and Cacko ROM are much more stable still. In RC9 I get frequently GUI freezes that require either hard boot (i.e. remove battery etc) or a login from network to solve. At some point I got a freeze on three days in a row, which got REALLY annoying.

Yeah, I had to revert back to 1.05.. but was thinking about scrapping it all together and going with OZ or the cacko rom. RC9 wasn't very stable for me at all. Sure, its great to see a complete install of a wide range of apps and a good control panel.. but RC9 is hardly useable. It froze at least twice a day for me.

What are you guys doing that makes it freeze twice a day ?
I've just been to Cacko 1.2(1)(2), it froze at least twice a day for me (using X/Qt pocketworkstation), so I came back to pdaX.
There's no other rom that can run debian apps as fast as pdaX can.
X/Qt is a nice try, but it takes too long to start and you have to shut it down before you suspend if you don't want your Z to freeze. Starting them from pdaX is way faster and more stable. The debian-apps also run faster (read : "you can actually use them")
I'd say : go for RC9

I support RC9, the speed makes me so high.
