Title: [w2k] Syncing Via Irda
Post by: haskell on March 28, 2005, 11:33:08 am
Hi,

I want to sync my Zaurus 5500 D with Outlook via IrDa using Intellisync

Zaurus:
5500 D, OZ 3.5.2  / Opie 1.1.8 (Hentges-ROM)

Windows: Windows 2000, SP4

After getting a hint in a german Zaurus-Forum, I tried the following:

On Zaurus:
enable IrDa / Discovery and run

pppd  115200 /dev/ircomm0 192.168.129.201:192.168.129.0 noauth nodetach debug local ktune persist

On Windows:
- install  ircomm2k (which provides a virtual COM-Interface for IrDa on W2k)
- Networking and communications -> New connection -> Direct connection
with parametres:
- IrDa-Interface
- no login and password
- PPP:Windows
-  TCP/IP with 192.168.129.0

Whenever I try to connect, I get
"Error 770, remote computer refused conncection"

Anyone having an idea?

I think I've got the right configuration on Zaurus,
- automatic login
- sync with all / Intellisync

Thanks,
Martin

Ok, I got it.

But there's another problem.
If I operate from Windows to Zaurus via SSH, everything works fine.
But when I sync using Intellisync, I get permanently messages on my Zaurus,
that an unknown device tries to access; so I have to confirm this messages  nearly 30 times per sync - it really sucks!

I've got the same problem when I sync via USB and I know, that there is at least another person, having the same problems.

Anyone who knows the reason or a solution?

Thanks,
Martin
