Can Zaurus SL-C3000 or 1000 do these things?
Im contemplating buying one
1. Can I dload my hotmail?
2. Can I run multiple msn messengers, I know its linux so it wont be a perfect copy of messenger
3. How long does a standard battery last?
4. Is there anyway to enter in Korean?
5. Is there any Korean to English dictionaries?

1. if you mean download mail into a mail program like outlook does, then no. But I don't think any of the PDAs can with stock software. If you mean access your hotmail with a browser, then yes. It should be no problem.
2. I don't have multiple msn accounts to try it, but it looks like you can with gaim. I currently hookup msn, icq and aim accounts. Is ICQ and AIM the same provider?
3. mileage varies, but it should be comparable to other VGA PDAs.
4&5. I got this from the old zaurus software index
"Effy-CJK 3.0 (Eng/Chi/Jap/Kor) for Linux A software to support the input and output of English/Chinese/Japanese/Korean in Zaurus.
Effy-CJK 3.0 (English/Chinese/Japanese/Korean) for Linux A software to support the input and output of English/Chinese/Japanese/Korean in Zaurus.
Effy-OpenEyes2.0 English/Korean [multi-lingual input method] A software to support the input and output of English/Korean in Zaurus."

Actually, the stock mail program that ships with the c3000 can handle imap4 and pop/pop3. I don't use hotmail, so I don't know if they make that available, but other web services certainly allow you to pop their servers and download your mail.
The mail program that comes with KDEPimPI also does imap4 and pop/pop3.

hotmail is strictly html mail. No pop (there use to be a pop server a long time ago) or imap. Outlook was able to interface with it because MS owns hotmail, but even that has changed. New members cannot access hotmail from outlook without paying for an upgraded account. Since my account is older, I don't have that restriction and can access it from outlook.

nice bit of info. Thanks. For others, it looks to be windows software from china that can download hotmail. It is not for a pocket pc or linux, AFAICT.

The canonical piece of software to access hotmail from Linux obviously is [a href=\"http://hotwayd.sourceforge.net/]the hotwayd/hotsmtpd POP3/SMTP to HTTPMail gateway[/url]. Works like a charm for me on the desktop, should be able to build just fine for the Z. Haven't done it so far though since I currently don't have the need for it, and due to prerequisites probably ends up being quite a piece of work to do so.
Best regards,
Chris.
