Title: Pdax86 "make Image"
Post by: henry on April 11, 2005, 03:30:01 am
Hi:
After I choose some ipkgs in pdaX86-"make menuconfig" , I run "make world", it compiled all the ipkgs and put them into /bootdisk/feed/. I want to know if I download all the ipkgs into that directory, and run "make image", will I get the initrd.bin which is used for rom?

I'm not sure if the scripts create the rom by choosing all the packages in a specific directory or if it creates  a list in a file at some point,
but when you do make menuconfig there is a little checkbox "include in rom", for each package, I believe this is the way to choose what you want to go in the rom.

in anycase you can try and check what is included or not;)

Thanks, I will try it.
By the way, I choose the default config file. hum, it took so long to compile and creat the ipk files.

it takes a long time, but you may not need to recompile everything, if the only thing you need is a new kernel with ipv6 support, you can use the compiled ipks and images without rebuilding everything.
